And now for my next trick ..........

Morning Peeps

This week I have mostly been celebrating my birthday (still a bit grim from BBQ Monday) and cheating ......

I have never had the heart to gut a book ....don't ask why, I'm not sure ...just seems kinda wrong some how ....kinda disrespectful .... but hey that's just me, I bought an old dictionary to use and every time I rip a page out I can hear my Nana tutting lol

Anyway during a blog hop I found this on my CB friend Gina's Blog... And immediately pinched it lol
Its a fabby idea and Ive thoroughly enjoyed myself this week making two, (you will have to wait for No 2) I've tweaked a little but not the dims etc. What do you think? I know its cheating but as a book lover who likes altered stuff, I think its a fanbloodytastic idea.....thanks Gina.

Stuff I used
Papermania 12 x 12 card stock (think it was Ornate Cluster)
Cream and Rusty Centura Pearl
Nesties - Beaded oval and oval
DI's -Vintage Photo
Woodware lace punch
Handmade roses from scraps of the left over card
Few bits from me stash - little flowers etc.
Hougie Board (not essential but really helps)

Here's the dims for all the bits, I used 12 x 12 stock but you can manage it out of A4
Book Cover - 1 @ 30.5 x 16 (scored @ 13.5 Cm's from each end)
Matts - 4 @ 15.4 x 12.9 and 2 @ 15.4 x 3
Patterned paper - 3 @ 14.9 x 12.4, 2 @ 14.9 x 2.6 and 1 @ 12 x 9.5 (small one is behind the pages)
Faux pages - 2 @ 25.5 x 14.7 and 2 @  25.5 x 12.2 (score at half inch intervals and fold)

Don't use to heavy a card stock for the faux pages its hard to fold, hold and glue lol

Please see Gina's Blog for the Full Instructions as its only fair you visit her too.

The fiddly bit is the concertina faux pages but worth the faff me thinks, just apply a little glue and ease them together, let each side dry before you glue the next or its a bit frustrating :)

(No? my Floor isn't covered in half stuck, full of fluff, concertina'd thingies)

Sunday Stamper Week 207 - WORDS

Hi Peeps
Yes I know sorry another one ha ha

This is a last minute entry in Hels Sunday Stamper, over at Ink on my Fingers, The theme is WORDS, a bit of a homage to the late Mr Gibb...... aww

I made it a while ago and thought sod it I'm Bunging It In... It was submitted to a mag sometime ago! (see rant below)

Stuff I Used
Fredrix Canvas Panel
Choc Baroque stamp set - Fleurs et Parfum de Paris
Hand made charms, pins and lace flowers
Tim Holtz Alphabet Soup grunge board
DI's cant remember which colours oops
Bits n Bobs from my scraps box

Hope you like it, poor thing has just been stuck on my craft room door for two months :(

RANT ! (please skip this if you don't want to read my inane rantings)

I know I'm not Monet or the best crafter in the world, I'm also not stupid!

The project above has been hanging around for two months! Rules for submission stated must not be posted/seen previously etc,.... I put my heart and soul and a hell of a lot of time into my projects.....I try my best to  promote other artists/products/mags/blogs, think about it ladies we do this every time we blog/facebook/tweet etc..... I have submitted numerous projects to mags etc over the years and yes there are prob thousands of entries each month, and yes I'm not stupid enough to think mine is that good they will pick me, but we have a go don't we,...........but with the exception of one because it was published, not one has acknowledged my entry, would it kill them to acknowledge your submission, Its not rocket science, and an automated response would do, If it wasn't for reader receipts I wouldn't even know they had got it..... I'm seriously just not going to bother anymore!

Us crafters are promoting your business, your products, your projects, your artists and flipping buying the mags and the products in them,  for god sake have the decency to at least acknowledge us!!
Right sorry rant over xx

Have a fabby weekend xx

What... Another one ...

Hey Peeps
Yes I'm on a roll ..... What with Craft Stamper mag and all my new followers' blogs giving me  inspiration, It  has really got my creativity juices flowing this week :)

I was hopping round last night and found a fabby 'book card' on my fellow Choc Baroquian member ,Gina, blog, which I may have a go at this afternoon, she's given all the deets, go have a nosey its just fabby :)

This is my take on a project by Sarah Engles-Greer, Kraft Glassine

Stuff Ive Used
Lace Fragments & Just Butterflies stamp sets  - Choc Baroque
Kraft Glassine, Book Plate die cuts, Tattered Flowers die, brads - Tim Holtz
Snow Cap Dabber - Ranger
Vintage Photo - DI's
White and brown signo gel pens

Tips of the day -
Like the look of stitching on projects but cant be bothered getting your sewing machine out !
Cheat - paper pierce then join the dots with your fine liners, works a treat and is very therapeutic.

Trouble with smudgy stamping on to Glassine - Heat set it every time, once you see the paper 'sweat', its cooked, it sort of traps the image in the paper ! Magic ha ha

Hate cutting out flutterbyes as you lose the 'deely boppers', use headpins, they look great and add dimension, just hide them behind a sticky pad :)

Right I'm done teaching you to suck eggs lol, hubby home early so we are off to the shops :)
