Been having some me time this morning and ive up-cycled/altered an old gift box :) thought id give it a friend whos just shabby chic'd her bedroom.

Matt Modge Podge
Viva Decor Clear Croco cream and Inka Gold paint
Adirondack - expresso
Distress stain - vintage photo
Couple of tips if you havent tried traditional decoupage before
Inkjet printer ink can bleed :( either try dabbing your images with PVA first n let them dry before using or spritz them with water both sides and dab colour run away, this can give a nice faded look. Or you could get someone to photo copy the images as lazer printing shouldnt bleed :0
Tear your images out as this softens the edge and makes them blend in better although lots of layers of sealer will do the same .
I like the grungy look of brush lines but a damp sponge will smooth ridges out if you chosen sealer/varnish looks bumpy.
Using your heat gun to dry it off between coats may make you images lift (learned that one quick)
Have a bash its lovely and messy :)
